Shop E

The grinding shop was constructed in 1904, and is a classic example of an early 20th century industrial design. The shop was used by the Taylor Wharton Iron and Steel Company as a finish grinding facility for rough forged castings. The structure contains a lower level open floor plan and two mezzanine levels. What is extraordinary about the structure is that it still contains much of its original equipment intact. The building has been vacant since August 2008, and is in fairly stable condition.
